The destination

Alanya, on Türkiye’s Mediterranean coast

A castle on a headland, a working harbour, long beaches and the Taurus Mountains behind. Not a guide — just enough to picture where the days between appointments are spent.

Four views of the town

A real town, long before it was a destination

Read down the list — the photograph follows the chapter you are on.

  1. 01

    The castle hill

Alanya is built around a rocky headland that rises straight out of the sea. Its walls and towers date largely from the thirteenth century, when the town was an important Seljuk port, and the road up the hill gives the view most visitors remember: the harbour on one side, the long curve of the bay on the other.

  2. 02

The Red Tower and the harbour

At the foot of the castle hill, the octagonal Red Tower — Kızıl Kule — still stands over the old harbour it was built to protect. Around it, wooden boats tie up along the quay: an easy place to spend an unhurried hour between two appointments.

  3. 03

    The waterfront

Palm-lined promenades follow the shore from the harbour, busy in the evening and quiet in the morning. Much of Alanya is walkable along the sea, and the coast road runs east past Kestel, where the Dental Art clinic is.

  4. 04

    The bay and the mountains

Behind the town the Taurus Mountains close the view; in front of it, the bay opens to the Mediterranean. Summers are hot and dry and spring and autumn are milder — though your dentist may ask you to wait before swimming after some treatments.

Practical notes

Getting here, and finding the clinic

  • Airports

Gazipaşa–Alanya (GZP) is the closer airport. Antalya (AYT) is larger, with more international routes. The clinic can explain the transfer from either.

  • The clinic

Kestel Mah., Sahil Cad. No:21, 07400 Alanya / Antalya — on the coast road at Kestel. Open in Google Maps

  • When to come

Whenever your treatment plan allows. Spring and autumn are milder than midsummer, but the appointments you need matter more than the season.

  • Before you book

Talk to the clinic first — travel is best planned around a treatment plan. How a dental holiday works
